D.I.V.E Diversity Certificate

D.I.V.E (Difference. Inclusion. Value. Each other.) is a certificate program offered to students through the Office of Diversity Initiatives (ODI). The certificate acknowledges your commitment to enhancing multiculturalism and inclusion on the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK campus and local community.

Certification Levels

There are different levels of the certificate that can take as few as one semester or up to four years of participation.

Bronze

  • 3 Diversity Programs, 1 Course
  • 2 Coffee Hours
  • 10 Hours of Civic Engagement
  • 2 Adulting 101 Workshops

Silver

  • 6 Diversity Programs, 2 Courses
  • 4 Coffee Hours
  • 20 Hours of Civic Engagement
  • 4 Adulting 101 Workshops

Gold

  • 9 Diversity Programs, 3 Courses
  • 6 Coffee Hours
  • 30 Hours of Civic Engagement
  • 6 Adulting 101 Workshops
  • Study Abroad, Alternative Spring Break or Africana/Global Course (1 selection)

Platinum

  • 12 Diversity Programs, 4 Courses
  • 8 Coffee Hours
  • 40 Hours of Civic Engagement
  • 8 Adulting 101 Workshops
  • Study Abroad, Alternative Spring Break or Africana/Global Course (any 2 selections)

Coffee Hour

Take a break and enjoy coffee or tea, cookies, and games and conversations and crafts about social justice topics and activities.

Civic Engagement

You will have the opportunity to engage with our local community doing community service. You will have the opportunities to build empathy, self-awareness and leadership skills through service to others. If you're ready to serve, check out all of our volunteer opportunities.

Adulting 101

Adulting 101 is a series of workshops for students to learn about life skills while in college and tools they can use in the future. Topics include social media etiquette, resume building, leadership conference, Credit Bureau Do's & Don'ts and other life skills.

Study Abroad

Study abroad is important for cultural immersion opportunities. You are able to engage with different cultures, languages, traditions and different education systems all while enjoying the rich culture and meeting new people while expanding your worldview. If you are interested in studying abroad, check out all of the available Study Abroad opportunities.

If you're unable to go abroad but are interested in learning about new cultures you can take a course in our Africana and Global Cultures. You can also participate in our Alternative Spring Break opportunities, and Honors Program or Bonner Leader immersion experience both also apply.
